Sunburst

I found out late last week—hours before leaving for Necon—that WESTLAKE SOUL has been nominated for the 2013 Sunburst Award. This is an incredible honour, and I extend my deepest gratitude to the Sunburst Award Committee.

The full title for the award is The Sunburst Award for Excellence in Canadian Literature of the Fantastic, and it recognizes notable works of speculative fiction by Canadian authors, in two categories: Adult Fiction, and Young Adult Fiction. Previous winners have included Guy Gavriel Kay and Cory Doctorow.

The nomination is made even more rewarding by the esteemed authors accompanying me on the shortlist. Here is the full list of nominees:
